Test Engineer II
Job Summary: Designs, develops and maintains test procedures, tester hardware and software for the repair production environment. |
Responsibilities:
· Reviews repair designs for testability requirements.· Supports production with failure analysis, tester debugging, reduction of intermittent failures and downtime of test equipment.· Prepares recommendations for testing and documentation of procedures to be used from the product design phase through to initial production.· Generates reports and analysis of test data, prepares documentation and recommendations.· Reviews test equipment designs, data and RMA issues with customers regularly.· Designs and directs engineering and technical personnel in fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment.· Directs and coordinates engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, record, and reduce test data· Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations· Direct and exercise control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests.· Performs moderately complex assignments of the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices.· Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by test engineering and management personnel.· Develops or uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on machinery and equipment.· Performs semi-routine technique development and maintenance, subject to established Ivy standards, including ISO and QS development standards.· Provides training in new procedures to production testing staff.· Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills Requirements:
· 3-5 years of experience.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, First Degree, Trade/Vocational School certificate or Equivalent required. Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technology, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual will be required to stand and walk or otherwise traverse in order to be accessible to the production floor for extended periods of time. The person in this position will be required to regularly exert at least 10 lbs. of force to push, pull or otherwise move objects and may be required to carry or lift objects up to 50 lbs. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and/or documents; viewing a computer terminal; and/or visual inspection of products or machinery. The person in this position may need to occasionally sit, type, climb stairs, bend, reach, kneel, or twist for minimal periods of time. Employees should not attempt to lift, pull or push a load in excess of 50 lbs. without assistance. Care should always be taken when lifting, pushing or pulling in an awkward position.
