We are seeking a Lean Coach at our Louisville, KY site to work collaboratively within all areas of the business and support Ivy’s lean transformation projects as a team member.

 

Job Summary

Provides Lean expertise and guidance through the development, documentation, implementation, and validation of focused and sustainable value stream transformation. Will facilitate building of synergies across a specific value stream to enable cross-functional collaboration and best practices sharing and implementation.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Provides industrial engineering support for the transformation projects, like time studies, line balancing

and layout design.

  • Provides coaching and development opportunities to strengthen overall capabilities of a value stream.
  • Engrains process excellence improvement energy and capabilities within the company.
  • Works closely with the Lean Manager/Lead to introduce and sustain a Lean culture into a value stream.
  • Provides coaching and support on value stream design sessions, project identification, and prioritization.
  • Monitors, coaches, and continuously improves Value Stream transformation initiatives to ensure continuous

and aggressive throughput time reduction.

  • Be a leader, mentor and coach towards integration of Lean principles, values, philosophies and tools for

driving continuous improvement through Kaizen Events along a value stream.

  • Works with value stream owners to create a system to ensure people development through value

stream focused Kaizen Events, Blitzes, and Lean projects.

  • Develops a best practice sharing internal network supported using Kaizen.
  • A coach and active facilitator in Bronze Certification projects and mentoring sessions. Be an active participant

in the Lean Silver Certification.

  • Leads by example and model the desired behaviors and values.
  • Foster respect for people and humility through mentoring and coaching through the site’s Lean journey.
  • Encourages risk taking and experimentation using the scientific method.
  • Maintains proficiency in the latest Lean approaches.
  • Aligns with the local Lean rewards and recognition program.
  • Align with Finance to bring the impact of projects that are part of Lean program into Ivy’s financial processes.
  • Responsible for value stream transformation metrics and data integrity within Kaizen.
  • Ensures the Lean Index Maturity Assessment is being used to measure and enhance value

stream transformation.

  • Leverage factory floor knowledge and employee feedback propose improvements to Lean Managers.
  • Ensures Program and Cultural Sustainability.
  • Develop and mentor lean leaders to facilitate and lead Kaizen Events.
  • Supports Lean Managers to propose and develop a strategy in support of the standardization of

effectiveness of the sites Lean program.

  • Anticipates and meet/exceed customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively.
  • Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.
  • Complies and follows all procedures within the company security and ethics policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Reports to Lean Manager

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree educated in an engineering discipline. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics,

Electrical Engineering, Technology, or related field preferred.

  • 1-2 years of experience. Fresh graduates with relevant studies, coursework and internship experience

are encouraged to apply.

  • AutoCAD or similar design software knowledge.
  • Capable of executing time studies and line balancing calculations.
  • Familiar with LEAN manufacturing concepts
  • Familiar with the 5S concept.
  • Bilingual: fluent English and good command of Spanish.
  • Ability to work on the production floor. Moving pallets and using power tools are part of the daily work.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Use collaborative working style to positively affect change across the organization.
  • Formal lean or six sigma qualification preferable.
